What is Pellet? Pellet Fuel, the New Trend of Exports in Bio Energy!
The pellet is actually obtained from the dust that comes out during the cutting of the tree, which we all know as sawdust. Usually this waste material was not of much importance in the past, but in 2011 a machine was developed and a stove for the products from this machine. This stove, which is produced by special production, belongs to an Italian company. Thanks to the work done by various companies on this stove in our country, it has now enabled us to have a product called Pellet as BIO ENERGY FUEL.
What is a pellet?
It can be expressed as a bio, that is, a natural fuel, that reduces carbon emissions to zero. It is a product that is generally obtained from sawdust dust of pine trees and various trees, and that allows it to be obtained as a product with a diameter of 6 mm or 8 mm with a compression method similar to a meat grinder. You can easily find information on the combustion quality of this compressed product on the internet.
Pellets, which are generally obtained from waste products, consist of walnut shells, chestnut shells, pine cones, sawdust and all kinds of wood waste. The burning quality of the wood also causes quality separations in the pellet. The best pellet product consists of sawdust or waste of Pine Wood.
The countries that use the most pellets in the world are European countries. At the top of this list, as you might guess, Germany is located. Unlike other products, the pellet product can be exported to Europe by companies with certain standards. Since this product is a fuel, you have to complete some certification programs with certain auditor companies by EnPlus, Europe’s most important certification body, which determines the quality standards, which is the most important element. This process can take approximately 10 to 12 months. If the right action is taken and consultancy support is received beforehand, it is also possible to complete it within 3 months.
EnPlus standards are offered for products divided into 3 categories as A1-A2 and B class. In addition, it has almost the same conditions as the DINPlus standard, which is the standard of Germany. Whether you want EnPlus or DinPlus certificate, many countries can still demand EnPlus standards.
The first of the EnPlus Organization, which has 3 Type licenses, is the manufacturer’s license. This is only given to manufacturers, and firms with adequate audits may have it. Type 2 is the Merchant License, this license is a license type that has the ability to sell only from authorized producers to the final consumer and has the opportunity to sell in international overseas trade. Companies holding this license can also use their own packaging and brand thanks to the certificate.
Licensed manufacturers in Turkey are only 3 companies as of 04/12/2022. There may be companies that have applied but have not received certificates, so as of this date, there are a total of 5 companies in Turkey that can do this trade. Atabas Bio Energy
